After the war, when everything needed rebuilding, a unique place emerged at Piaggio: Officina 8. It was the creative heart of the factory, an almost secret space where the brightest minds — engineers, designers, mechanics — often from the world of aviation worked.

In a Europe in full rebirth, filled with hope and new ideas, this is where the first Vespas came to life. Here, they designed, built, and tested… again and again. Thousands of kilometers were traveled before deciding what would become a production model… or a racing machine.

It’s also where what still defines the soul of Vespa was born: elegant lines, a timeless style, and a perfect mix of technology and passion.

Iconic models like the 98 Corsa or those that broke speed records passed through this workshop. Every Vespa that came out was unique, crafted with almost artisanal care.
