Vespa celebrates its 80th Anniversary with a special Primavera and GTS series
Vespa is celebrating the 80 years since the original patent filing on April 23, 1946, with a commemorative series based on two key models from its current lineup: the Primavera and the GTS. Technically, the scooters remain unchanged, but they receive a special anniversary edition with a design deeply inspired by the brand’s historic heritage.
The defining feature of this Vespa 80th Anniversary edition is its exclusive color: Vert Pastello. This iconic shade, taken directly from Vespa’s historical archives, recalls the very first monochrome models from 1946. It is applied across all exterior elements: front leg shield, mirrors, controls, passenger grab handle, and swingarm. The Vert Pastello wheels, also unique to this edition, echo the stamped steel wheels of the original Vespa 98, featuring a diamond-cut rim finish and the inscription “Est. 1946”.
Tone-on-tone dark green details further enhance the design, including the stitched seat, rubber inserts, and interior trim elements that reinforce the premium identity of this special Vespa series. On the Primavera, a left-side air vent grille pays tribute to early post-war scooter engineering solutions. At the front, the Vespa logo is paired with an “80th” plaque, while the rear features a badge reading “80 Years of Vespa Est. 1946”.
The 80th anniversary celebrations of Vespa will continue in Rome from June 25 to 28, 2026, featuring what is expected to be the largest Vespa gathering ever organized.
